While the second season of Arcane is incredible, we have bad news from Netflix

The creators of the series Arcane, an adaptation that deals with the League of Legends universe, have hinted that it will be a long time before their next film or television production of the game sees the light after the second season, now airing on Netflix.

In an exclusive statement to TechRadar before the second season of Arcane debuted on Netflix on November 9, Christian Linke and Alex Yee warned fans not to expect another similar project, animated or live-action, in the near future.

In fact, although there were several projects in development, the couple wanted to emphasize that “we are not producing any of them.” That is, there are ideas that are up in the air, but nothing is being finalized.

The disappointing news comes five months after it was announced that the second season of Arcane would also be the last. However, in a pre-recorded video posted on various Arcane social media accounts, Linke eased fans’ sadness by confirming that more LoL adaptations are in the works. Even better, one of Netflix’s best series creators said he hoped to have more news to share before the end of 2024.

With the final three episodes of Arcane’s second season scheduled for today, November 23, viewers might be expecting some kind of revelation—whether as a post-credits scene or an announcement of a new project on social media—before the end of 2024.

Considering that it took six years to make the first season of Arcane, and more than three years to make its sequel, it seems we are in for a long wait for another game adaptation to be released on Netflix.
